Redefining the Future of AI
Palo Alto, CA, May 20, 2024 – As artificial intelligence rapidly evolves, Inflection continues to stand out as a pioneer, redefining the boundaries of what AI can achieve to help amplify human capabilities and intelligence.
By emphasizing emotional intelligence (EQ) alongside best-in-class cognitive (IQ) abilities, our AI Studio has achieved something difficult and groundbreaking with Pi. We have created an AI that not only understands the world but also connects with people on a deeper level. We have today, hands down, the world's top empathetic Large Language Model (LLM), which is also in the top 5 of most competent LLMs.
Having proven this vision with a platform used by over 1 million people daily we now have embarked on a new journey to bring this technology to organizations to help them harness the transformative power of AI. An undertaking of this magnitude requires many different contributions and as the new CEO of Inflection one of my first tasks has been to build an amazing leadership team to achieve this ambition.
With that in mind, I am pleased to announce that the first three members of my new executive team have joined Inflection - Vibhu Mittal as Chief Technology Officer, Ted Shelton as Chief Operating Officer, and Ian McCarthy as Chief Product Officer.
Vibhu is an early pioneer in natural language AI: formerly a Senior Scientist at Google who worked on the very first prototypes of Google Translate, he also worked on conversational interfaces for patient education at Carnegie Mellon University after his Ph.D and was an education tech entrepreneur.
Ted joins Inflection from the global management consulting firm Bain & Company where he worked closely with some of the largest companies in the world to apply AI and automation to transform their businesses. Ted began his career as a software developer and worked as an entrepreneur and executive in Silicon Valley before becoming a consultant.
Ian is a product leader and entrepreneur who has cocreated disruptive ML-driven content, commerce, and discussion systems at massive scale for LinkedIn, Microsoft, Sony, Yahoo, and several startups.
Many more people will join our team in the coming days and weeks to continue the outstanding work done by the original founders and expand our vision for an AI studio. As a Public Benefit Company, we believe empathetic AI can raise the level of human-computer interaction by having technical systems meet humans where they are rather than humans needing to learn how to interact with computers.
Our new focus will enable developers and enterprises to use this technology in exciting new ways in their products and services with custom personalities to match their brand. Our API program is in beta and we invite interested parties to sign up to participate.
